Privacy Policy

No accountNo adsNo trackingLocal processing

Beat Tap is an on-device video and beat editing app. It does not require an account, subscription, login, or internet connection to create edits. We do not sell your data or include third-party advertising, tracking, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.

Information we do not collect

Beat Tap does not ask for or collect your name, phone number, address, contacts, location, payment information, health information, or advertising identifier. It does not upload your videos, audio, projects, beat timing, crops, exports, face data, or thumbnails to our servers. Beat Tap has no backend service for storing projects.

No cookies, ads, or cloud processing

The app does not use cookies, web tracking pixels, personalized ads, ad identifiers, YouTube APIs, or third-party analytics. Editing, waveform generation, beat timing, thumbnail generation, crop work, project saving, and export preparation happen on your device.

Photo Library permission

Beat Tap requests Photo Library access so you can browse and import selected media, allow iOS to retrieve iCloud-backed originals when needed, and save finished exports to Photos. Beat Tap does not request microphone, camera, contacts, or location access.

You can change Photo Library permission at any time in iOS Settings. Removing access may prevent importing, restoring projects, loading thumbnails, retrieving iCloud originals, or saving exports until access is restored.

Media and local project data

Beat Tap works with media you choose or media required to restore a saved project. Apple frameworks process that media locally. The app may create local working copies, thumbnails, waveform samples, beat timing, crop settings, clip timing, exports, and saved-project files.

Saved projects can include a project name, thumbnail, beat timings, trim points, selected Photo Library asset identifiers, clip timing, crop and rotation settings, volume settings, timeline resolution and frame-rate information, and local files needed to restore the edit.

Beat Files, sharing, and exports

Videos, audio-only exports, and Beat Tap Beat Files are created locally. If you share them through AirDrop, Messages, Mail, Files, Dropbox, or another app, the destination service handles the file under its own privacy policy. Imported .beatsong files are read locally to populate audio and beat timing.

Apple diagnostics

Apple may provide developers with App Store Connect, TestFlight, or system diagnostic information when users choose to share diagnostics with Apple or use TestFlight. This can include crash reports, performance diagnostics, installation information, and aggregated app analytics. We use it only to understand bugs, crashes, performance, and product quality.

Support email

If you email support, we receive the email address you use and any information you choose to include. Support messages are used only to respond and improve Beat Tap. Avoid sending sensitive personal information unless it is necessary to resolve your request.

Retention, deletion, and choices

Local app data remains on your device until you remove it, clear the project, delete the app, or iOS removes temporary or cached data. Files already exported or shared outside Beat Tap remain wherever you saved or sent them.

Use Settings → Delete All Local Data to remove saved projects, the current edit, imported working copies, beats, thumbnails, preferences, caches, and temporary files after two confirmations. This does not delete original Photo Library media, completed exports saved to Photos, or files previously shared outside Beat Tap.

Security and children

Beat Tap uses the normal iOS app sandbox and Apple system frameworks. No storage or sharing method can be guaranteed to be completely secure or free from data loss, so keep backups of important media and exports.

Beat Tap is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. Children should use the app with permission and guidance from a parent or guardian.

Policy updates and contact

If Beat Tap's data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated. Privacy questions and deletion requests concerning support emails can be sent to support@tapthesong.app.

Projects

Include the project type, approximate duration, clip count, and what happened when saving or reopening.

Export problems

Beat Files

Beat Files use the .beatsong extension and can be opened from Files or imported from Beat Tap's Export tab.

Photo access

Email support support@tapthesong.app

Include your iPhone or iPad model, iOS version, Beat Tap version, and clear steps that reproduce the issue. Do not attach copyrighted or sensitive media unless it is necessary and you have permission to share it.

Beat Tap does not require an account. There is no password, cloud project account, or subscription to recover.
03

Data Deletion

Beat Tap stores projects locally rather than in an online account.

Delete all Beat Tap local data

  1. Open Beat Tap.
  2. Open Settings from the Music tab.
  3. Select Delete All Local Data.
  4. Review and accept both confirmation prompts.

This removes saved video and audio projects, the current edit, working media copies, beats, thumbnails, app preferences, caches, and temporary files stored by Beat Tap.

It does not delete: original Photo Library media, completed exports already saved to Photos, or files previously saved or shared outside Beat Tap.

Other deletion choices

  • Delete individual saved projects from the Export tab.
  • Delete completed exports from Photos or Files where you saved them.
  • Revoke Photo Library access in iOS Settings.
  • Delete Beat Tap to remove its local app container according to iOS behavior.

Support correspondence

If you contacted support and want that email conversation deleted, email support@tapthesong.app from the same address used for the original conversation.

Terms of Use

Effective July 3, 2026

By downloading, opening, or using Beat Tap, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Apple may also apply its own App Store, TestFlight, device, iCloud, Photos, and operating-system terms.

1. Acceptance and what Beat Tap does

Using Beat Tap, importing media, tapping beats, editing, saving projects, exporting files, or sharing files means you accept these Terms electronically. Beat Tap is an on-device creative editor for audio timing, video selection, beat-based cutting, clip adjustment, local project saving, export, and sharing.

Beat Tap does not provide music, stock media, copyright licences, publishing rights, distribution rights, or legal permission to use third-party material.

2. Personal, business, and organizational use

You may use Beat Tap for personal or commercial creative work. If you act for a business, client, employer, organization, event, or campaign, you are responsible for having authority and ensuring that your content, releases, licences, permissions, exports, and uploads are lawful.

3. Your content and copyright responsibility

You are responsible for all video, audio, music, images, Beat Files, projects, names, thumbnails, exports, and other content you use with Beat Tap. You must own it, have permission or a valid licence, or otherwise be legally allowed to use it.

Beat Tap does not check copyright clearance or grant rights to third-party media. Beat Files include the selected audio, so sending one to another person distributes that audio. Private sharing does not automatically grant permission to redistribute copyrighted music.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Beat Tap to create, edit, export, import, store, or share material that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights; is unlawful, harmful, abusive, threatening, defamatory, harassing, or deceptive; bypasses platform protections; or violates the rules of services where you publish it.

5. Age and guardian responsibility

Users below the age required to use apps without parental consent in their location should use Beat Tap only with permission and guidance from a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a child's use of media, exports, sharing, and third-party services.

6. Local projects, backups, and sharing

Projects, Beat Files, thumbnails, temporary files, and exports are created on your device. You are responsible for backups. Deleted projects, deleted source media, unavailable iCloud originals, cleared storage, or app deletion can prevent restoration.

Once you share a file outside Beat Tap, the receiving app or service controls it under its own terms and privacy policy.

7. Results and third-party platforms

We try to make editing, playback, saving, and export reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, recovery of every project, compatibility with every file or device, or acceptance by social platforms. Platforms may compress, crop, mute, block, remove, or otherwise alter uploaded media.

8. App licence and intellectual property

Beat Tap is licensed for personal, non-transferable use on devices you own or control, subject to applicable Apple terms. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, reverse engineer, disassemble, derive source code from, or misuse the app except where law permits.

Beat Tap's design, code, branding, interface, features, and documentation belong to Beat Tap or its developer. You retain rights in content you create, subject to rights held by others in the source material.

9. Apple and third-party services

Beat Tap can interact with Photos, Files, iCloud, TestFlight, the App Store, Mail, Messages, AirDrop, the iOS share sheet, and third-party apps you choose. We are not responsible for those services or their handling of your files, account, uploads, claims, or data.

10. Support, updates, and privacy

Features may be updated, changed, added, removed, suspended, or discontinued. Support cannot guarantee recovery of every project, file, export, or device state. Use of Beat Tap is also governed by the Privacy Policy.

11. No warranty and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beat Tap is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible, or loss-free operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beat Tap and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost projects, media, exports, profits, copyright claims, takedowns, account restrictions, business interruption, device issues, or lost data. Nothing limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

12. Termination, changes, and severability

You may stop using Beat Tap at any time. Rights to use the app may end if these terms or applicable Apple terms are violated. Terms that should survive termination continue to apply.

These Terms may change as the app, law, or platform requirements change. Continued use after an update means acceptance. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue.

Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@tapthesong.app.
